This module is focused on networking basics. Participants will learn about the art and science of networking, including the three basic tenants of networking, and how to network across gender lines. After this session, participants will be able to:

Networking – Using Your Network to Work for You

This program builds on networking basics and takes networking training to the next level, although it can serve as a stand-alone session. Participants will learn how to creatively leverage the network they have built to ensure success, how to turn interests and passions into relationship-building opportunities and how to become an “out of the box” business developer. After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Build their own brand
  • Become a connector and strategically utilize that position
  • Create and implement a signature
  • Make themselves memorable
  • Develop and capitalize on “sticky” messaging to make rain
Getting a Seat at the Table

This module is focused on how to elevate your career and boost your leadership skills by making sure your voice is heard. Participants will learn the seven traits of highly effective leaders and how to develop those traits and skills so that they can get into meetings, be effective, raise their profile and be viewed as someone in their company that has what it takes to be a trailblazer. After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Have confidence and take risks
  • Learn to take action and inspire others by being innovative and a leader for change
  • Understand when and how to speak up and when to listen
  • Utilize their expertise to have a voice
  • Be decisive, get to the point
  • Support their team, at whatever level they are
Best Practices for Building and Sustaining a Gender Diversity and Inclusion Initiative

This session is focused on how to create and maintain a successful gender diversity and inclusion initiative. Participants will learn about the six factors crucial to success, making the business case to management, the importance of substantive programs and building men’s inclusion, participation and support. After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Develop goals and measurable objectives
  • Identify meaningful programming to meet their company’s specific needs and goals
  • Recognize the importance of creating value and a return on investment to meet overall strategy and business objectives
  • Utilize internal and external marketing to build engagement
  • Integrate networking, events and client involvement
  • Understand the role of mentoring/sponsorship
Unconscious Bias – Awareness and Solutions

This module is focused on four kinds of unconscious bias – stereotype, in-group vs. out-group, homophily and confirmation bias. Also discussed are gendered personality traits and words and the internal unconscious biases that women have toward themselves. After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Have a deeper understanding and awareness of unconscious bias
  • Identify and address their own unconscious biases
  • Develop strategies to manage unconscious bias in various business interactions and from multiple perspectives
  • Utilize gendered personality traits to achieve success
  • Be confident and not let internal biases undermine their growth
Mastering the Motives of Negotiation

This program is focused on the three elements of negotiation, the various approaches, how gender stereotyping impacts negotiation and different negotiation styles. After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the implications of interests, rights and power
  • Recognize how their personality can impact the effectiveness of their style
  • Capitalize on gender differences
  • Negotiate with facts and objectivity, not emotion
  • Be creative and confident in negotiating solutions to difficult problems
